Jonathan prepares to kick-off his fourth Africa Cup of Nations campaign as the Black Stars take on Senegal in Mongomo, Equatorial Guinea.
After an unimpressive outing in Brazil, the Stars are playing not only to be crowned as African champions, but also to win back the hearts of Ghana fans.
The Evian Thonon Gaillard defender understands the task ahead and said: ‘This is my fourth AFCON and i’m prepared with the objective to go out there and perform. We have put everything behind us to concentrate on the task ahead. With a new coach and a few new faces now in the team we’re very optimistic.’
Jonathan is still as excited as he was going into his first AFCON in 2010. Speaking to his official website he said: ‘You still get the same feeling going into this tournament because it’s special. The spirit in camp is great and our aim is to give out our best. We appreciate the support of all Ghanaians and well wishes and we hope to repay them by going as far as we can in this tournament.’
